Blackboard Transact™ Release 3.5 Delivers Enhanced Data Security Capabilities
Blackboard is pleased to announce the general availability of
Blackboard Transact Release 3.5.
This latest release of the Blackboard Transact platform provides numerous new features including enhanced data and application security capabilities that comply with the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS), allowing clients to host the application in a manner which is in line with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
New Security Features:
- Improved database audit logging.
- New user account and password features.
- Forced complex passwords.
- Limited repeat access attempts.
- User account deactivation if not used at least every 90 days.
- Secure (SSL) connections between reader hardware and the host.
Other New Features:
- Completely new and streamlined credit card process, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Significantly improved reporting functionality with report sharing, custom SQL, and custom formatting.
- Completely re-written user documentation.
- Approximately 100 miscellaneous enhancements and defect fixes.
Blackboard Transact Release 3.5 adds enhanced security features to the highly sophisticated, user-friendly and easily expandable campus commerce and security management platform.
Blackboard Transact Release 3.5 has an easy-to-use interface with web-like search capability, and Access Control that integrates completely with Blackboard Video Surveillance™.
Using Blackboard Transact Release 3.5, institutions will experience more operational and security management benefits including:
- Accomplishing more tasks with fewer actions, shortening the learning curve for system administrators.
- Supporting multiple card formats.
- Assigning temporary ID cards with full privileges if permanent card is misplaced.
- Designating each customer an unlimited number of stored value accounts.
- Displaying customer photos within the Customer Detail screen.
- Applying policy rules to retail transactions based on multiple conditions such as time period, point of sale group, and tender. Creating an unlimited number of customer-defined data fields.
- Adding a device to a host and bringing it online without affecting the status of any other device on the host.
- Sending downloads to select or multiple door access devices immediately or at a specified time for a specific time, date or recurring schedule
- Efficiently integrates Blackboard’s Access Control with Blackboard Video Surveillance, allowing administrators to view live or recorded video from anywhere.
